Welcome! You've got to be starting something...

May 2, 2017

Each week we'll be looking at an awesome piece we've got our mitts on that has lovingly set sail through the treasure trove. Whether it's because we want to sing it from the rooftops that we're in love, or someone is as enthusiastic as us and pleased with their purchase, we're sure to keep you entertained with gems and tricks.

Peachy pastels

This amazing vintage 1960s two piece, comprising of dress and jacket, has just come into store this week. I'm pretty sure that you could wear them together or separately, and still look blooming awesome. It is pretty hard to source these sorts of things in such great quality, and I couldn't believe my luck when I nabbed this suit.

Everywhere I turn there are pastels at the moment, and aside from them always reminding me of the make up mixes in Edward Scissorhands, the colourways are just so incredibly friendly. It’s like making the choice between wearing a ‘lipstick red’ red or a coral on your lips, which I have recently found makes me look so much more approachable. I've come to the conclusion that i've been lying to myself for years!

Here we have styled it as it is meant to be, but also shown it's multipurpose value by pairing it under a sheer floral too. Pastels can be such a good base to wear sheer items over and are often overlooked for the sake of rummaging around for pale underwear, (or maybe that's just me). The inner Velma/Megan Draper in me is also screaming out for someone to pair it with a roll neck and OTKs or gucci-esque loafers.
